In November 2007 INDUGA GmbH & Co. KG, Köln, received an order for the supply of a brass chip recycling plant from Messrs. Walcownia Metali Dziedzice in Czechowice-Dziedzice. The supply comprises a complete system for the recycling of damp brass chips using a coreless induction furnace.
The company Walcownia Dziedzice belongs to the Impexmetal Group which - together with its further subsidiaries Hutmen SA and Szopienice SA - forms the largest group in Poland for semi-finished copper products. In the brass sector Walcownia Dziedzice produces mainly rods, tubes and strip and supplies customers in Eastern Europe, Southern Europe and the USA. The investment in a chip recycling plant is part of the planned restructuring of the Impexmetal Group. The recycling plant will be put in operation in summer 2008 and will feed a new horizontal continuous casting plant for brass billets.
A major component of the INDUGA recycling plant is the mains-frequency coreless induction furnace with melting processor and furnace weighing device which together with the chip charging equipment and the exhaust system ensures a maximum degree of automation and a minimum amount of metal losses. Thus a very short amortization period can be achieved.
The customer decided in favour of the INDUGA equipment due to the many reference plants worldwide. Since the early 1980s INDUGA has continually developed the recycling of damp brass chips and now offers the customer an optimized plant solution for charging, melting and disposal of exhaust gas.
