Thermcon-AES hot top moulds for extrusion billets are proven efficient tools for the production of extrusion billets either for the recycling of in-house run-around scrap at an extrusion plant or for billet casting operations selling their billets on the market.
The hot top billet casting moulds are designed for ease of assembly and ease of maintenance and have a long service life. Learning to use the Thermcon-AES hot top moulds is swift and ensures that the systems can be taken into full production within the shortest time possible. The setup of the systems in between drops is simple and straightforward and involves only a limited amount of time. As the Thermcon-AES hot top moulds have no continuous air/oil injection system, the surface of the billets produced is less shiny than those produced with the moulds that have air/oil injection butt this is a largely cosmetic difference as the surface of the billets ends up in the billet butt at the extrusion press anyway. What really counts is that the shell zone of a billet produced with Thermcon-AES hot top systems is acceptable, making the overall economics at the bottom line of the Thermcon-AES hot top mould system come out on top.
Billet mould tables can also be delivered to match already existing casting machines.
