Rolling slab moulds

Thermcon-AES rolling slab moulds come in two types: adjustable moulds and fixed moulds. The moulds are conventional grease type moulds allowing maximum casting lengths of 6 meter long rolling slabs.
Fixed type moulds are designed in accordance with the customer requirements for shape and convexity and concavity tolerance requirements. The same applies for adjustable moulds but these moulds allow for a range of slab widths to be cast in the same mould, drastically reducing the funds required for investing in slab casting moulds. The range over which moulds can be adjusted is approximately 500 mm.
The adjustable moulds are supplied together with the required tools and tackle for adjustment, sealing of water slots and different sized water hoses for connections between the cooling water frame and the individual mould sections. Slab moulds can also be delivered to match already existing mould frames and tables of existing DC casting machines.
