The IUT automatic ageing concept for extrusions

Ageing excellence

To meet the maximum efficiency in extrusion heating, our ovens are designed for a double cross-flow air circulation.

By using the double cross-flow air circulation, the air passes over the metal the shortest way and provides the lowest delta T and the best temperature accuracy in the profiles. By following this, the heating/ageing cycle is kept to a minimum for each alloy.

Vertical chamber ageing ovens (VKU)

The vertical chamber ageing oven (VKU) concept for aluminium extrusions is of a modular design with several separate chambers for individual heat treatment of different alloys and profile lengths.

The efficient air circulation and precise temperature control enables a rapid heat-up and allows high ageing temperature resulting in a short cycle time. Due to the conceptīs modular design the plant is easy to expand for increased production in the future.

Special floor ovens (GKU)

For factory buildings with limited ceiling height, IUT offers a special floor oven concept (GKU) as an option to the VKU system. This concept also includes different automatic batch handling systems.

As the special floor oven design allows short end loading, a two side transfer is possible. The special floor oven design also includes the IUT modular design which allows an easy expansion if needed.

Traditional floor oven

As all IUT ageing solutions, the traditional floor oven is also equipped with a double cross-flow air circulation to achieve a short ageing cycle (same type as the VKU). As an option, the traditional floor oven system can be combined with fully automated stacking and de-stacking system.
