Hot log shears

In combination with ELHAUS rapid heaters a hot shear achieves the highest possible scrap saving. The costly storing of presawn billets is no longer necessary.

Further scrap saving can be achieved by a scrapless end piece control which recognizes the cause of critical short length at the end of logs and prevents it by a corresponding calculation program. A compensation cut makes sure that only transportable lengths arise. First a remaining log is cut in the middle. The front cut remains on the tilting tray of the hot shear while the back cut is moved into a parking position. Together with the first part of the new log the front cut forms the first cut log which is transported to the press. The parked second compensation piece is carried back into the heater so that e.g. the heating of the head area can be started. For the extrusion of safety parts and similar applications there are further software options, like 'only one piece billets' or 'only sawn billets' at your disposal.
